One thing I forgot to mention:
The FTM6K is supplied with a very sturdy quick-release bracket.
For a very nice, semi-permanent installation you can screw down the bracket, and then have the ability to remove the radio from the installation using the quick-release bracket. You of course need to manually disconnect the antenna and power...
But anyway, the quick release bracked is a very nice addition, and is built very well and tailored to the radio in a very clever fashion. I plan on using it under the seat in my 4Runner, as soon as I can get a chance to screw it down...
