Hi all...
Part of the reason I bought an FT-60R is that it has receive coverage of the 900 MHz band.? To my dismay, I discovered that reception is blocked from 918.5 to 943.5 MHz.? In North America, the customary simplex frequency is 927.5 MHz and repeater outputs are in the 927s, too.? Thus, the only common ham frequencies this radio can receive are the repeater inputs.? That's not very useful.
I've learned to be skeptical of the specifications claimed by sellers of BaoFeng and similar radios.? But Yaesu!!??
Yaesu's specification has the disclaimer of "cellular blocked" which might pertain to this deficiency.? Does anyone here know which part of the 900 MHz band is used by cellphones in North America?? I thought it was all in the high 800s of MHz.
Does anyone here have the "E" version of this radio?? Does it, also, have reception blocked in the 918.5 to 943.5 MHz range?
