Just wondering ..

A few of my groups are migrating from yahoo to . Just curious, is yahoo abandoning their groups or is this just a better 'experience'?

Thanks,
Fred Jacobowitz

Yahoo Groups has apparently failed to give much support to it's users.? Calendar reminders and other features have not worked for months on end, things that are quite useful to members.? Requests for support or application fixes have gone unanswered and this fact give the impression that Yahoo does not want to commit resources to the Groups section.

At least this has been my experience over the last couple of years.

I have encouraged my group members to migrate to groups.io after event reminders quit working, event times were often skewed after daylight and standard time changes, etc.

Fred,

Dr. Boehner messaged on the FT-60 Yahoo list (05-28-2018) that he was in the process of getting ready to move the group over here to 开云体育 ..

He said the e-mail announcement/advisory would be forthcoming and to be patient.

There is only one or two of the 12+ groups I follow that are still on the Yahoo system.

The Yahoo system has shaky legs and response time to admin items and even some posts is very bad anymore. Dunno how much support/effort Yahoo will continue to put into that Yahoo Groups element.

Thanks for the referral.? I've got the feeling that everything on Yahoo is beginning to go south.? There is no way to easily express your needs and the news content, in particular, is filled with ads and multipage news stories.

As of the last year or two, Yahoo Groups has been less reliable, and sometimes intermittent. Some messages do not get through to all group members.

As it is a freebie, the new owners are not putting a lot of resources into it.

groups.io has been more reliable, and has provided migration for entire Yahoo groups; files, archives, lists and everything, pretty much transparently to group members. If you use incoming filters on your email, you may need to adjust them. Seems to have all of the Yahoo groups features.
