Hole in 900Mhz
Did I miss Something specs say "cellular blocked" but I also find a
hole in the 700Mhz-900Mhz at 918.4875Mhz-943.5125Mhz is this a normal
hole or is something missing?

Re: headphone question, and Adapter suggestion
Does the FT-60 use the same speaker mic as the FT-50, VX-5, and VX-150?

FT-60 RCV on 927 MHz ??
Does the FT-60 receive on 927 MHz out of the box ? (927.1375 to be
specific).
It would be nice to monitor my repeater.
Thanks, Dick, W1KSZ

Re: Addition of Screw Driver Antenna supasses published sensitivity specifications of unit across all bands; cellular blocked.
Extensive frequency coverage is no longer a problem with my unit. I have
adapted a newly developed screw driver like antenna to the sna connector.

Re: headphone question, and Adapter suggestion
You need the CT-44 microphone adapter and your headphones fit in the
standard (larger) jack. I bought it, tried it and it works!

headphone question, and Adapter suggestion
is this a standard jack that I can plug any ol' set of headphone
into, or is it a special size that I need to buy one of their
accessories for?
Also, I haven't seen it posted here but on the

Re: Question about Bank scanning
My 8800 has hyper memories, maybe it can do it too. (I openly admit to
not reading the entire manual yet, nearly a year after buying it). Not
enough free time to read the whole manual. :-D

Is it the only radio? NO. My Yaesu FT-7800 does the same. It has t
hyper-memory paradyne. Each of four buttons memorize the current operating

Re: bug
Let's see...there are over 1,000 FT-60R units in the hands of
end-users.
There are three user reports of radios being sent out without
receivers in them.
That, in my humble opinion, does not

Re: Question about Bank scanning
Nick-
It might be a good idea!
I have both the VX-150 and FT-60, yes the vX-150 is good on the rail-band but I never compared the two.
Lately, we have had a discussion here about poor receiving

A set of banks? Is this a new feature? I admit to not memorizing or nit
picking at the manual, but that would be a very handy feature to be able
to scan multiple banks. Is the 60r the only radio that

You are correct. You associate memories with banks. A memory channel can
appear in more than one bank! When you scan, you can scan all memory
channels, a bank, a set of banks. And then just to

Question about Bank scanning
Hi, I'm considering buying the FT-60R as a railroad scanner. This is
after hearing many many rave reviews of the VX-150 being used for
this purpose, and then learning about this new unit. It seems
