Re: Question about Bank scanning

Joshua Miller

My 8800 has hyper memories, maybe it can do it too. (I openly admit to
not reading the entire manual yet, nearly a year after buying it). Not
enough free time to read the whole manual. :-D

Thanks for the info, I'm on an info quest now.

Is it the only radio? NO.? My Yaesu FT-7800 does the same.? It has t

can
assign it to a hyper-memory with the push of a button.?
On the FT-60r the same paradyne is used.? You select as many banks as
you

give

Ban.k2, then that bank is selected.? To toggle it press the fw key.?
Cycle
to the next bank togged the fw key., then press and hold v/m - mblscn
is
displayed on the screen.? Memory bank scan.? Just be in memory mode when
you
start this by toggling the v/m key.

A set of banks? Is this a new feature? I admit to not memorizing or nit
picking at the manual, but that would be a very handy feature to be
able
to scan multiple banks. Is the 60r the only radio that supports that
feature?

You are correct.? You associate memories with banks.? A memory channel
can
appear in more than one bank!? When you scan, you can scan all memory
channels, a bank, a set of banks.? And then just to throw a wrench in
there
you can purposely set a memory location not to scan.? I haven't done
that
one yet.

Hi, I'm considering buying the FT-60R as a railroad scanner. This is
after hearing many many rave reviews of the VX-150 being used for
this purpose, and then learning about this new unit. It seems that
the 60 is much more "scanner like" in that I will be able to choose a
few specific memory channels to include in a bank and scan only them
if I choose. Is that correct? Thanks in advance!

Nick
