Re: Battery FNB-83 Different voltage readings
Diodes are not resistors. Someone stated that the voltage drop in this scenario was caused by a diode. Diodes do not block - they allow current in one direction. Why would a diode cause this voltage

Re: Can't get FT 60R to scan all 5 bands
Thanks, Jardy. Just gives me the selections as turning the dial to ALL. Tried hold the BAND button down too.

Can't get FT 60R to scan all 5 bands
As per instructions I started in VFO>Band>P>All> waited for the P to stop flashing, pushed up arrow & then tried down arrow, same thing, it will not scan all 5 bands. Only one at a time. Do I need to

Re: Battery FNB-83 Different voltage readings
I may be missing your point when you say "diodes acting as resistors" - if
so, I apologize.
Diodes only get warm when there is current flowing. Think of a diode more
as a battery. Semiconductor

Re: Battery FNB-83 Different voltage readings
This is due to voltage drop across the internal diode.

Battery FNB-83 Different voltage readings
When I charged my 60r to full, I took my vom and measured the voltages at the 3 gold colored contacts on the back of the FNB-83 battery, it is 7.49 I removed the battery and checked the voltage at the

Re: No TX between 146 and 148 mhz
I thought I was alone in putting my radios mostly in storage for years!
I’ve had to re-learn FT-60R operation from scratch several times upon its
typical once-a-year use.
Now that I’m retired, my

No TX between 146 and 148 mhz
Hi all.
Dug out my ft60 after a few years on storage.
Plugged into cig lighter and fired up. Battery dead, bought a new pack. Received inserted and fully charged it. Radio switched on and worked well,

Re: problem FT-60
We who live near radio retailers are lucky. Having goodies shipped to me is
quick and convenient but is missing just a little bit of the magic.
I’ve been able to “go to” HRO in San Diego,

Re: problem FT-60
I want to thank Karl, Jardy, Chuck, Will, Pat, Clint and RJW for replying to my question about the FT-60
I went to R&L and bought a new battery. It indeed fixed the problem.
Thanks everyone again
