Re: Making 3D printed battery case for FT-60R
Thanks, Prasad, for that update.? I'm also fond of the 18650 Li-ion cells.? I like them much more than the pouch cells because I think they're more durable, less likely to fail due to the dendrite

Re: memory power loss
Clint
I bought my first FT-60 back in circa 2012 or 2013. It was a novel package
but it did not do as well as my old Kenwood 7800 as far as kicking off distant
repeaters. Never could find the

Re: memory power loss
If you don’t re-save the new settings it won’t stick. Look up how to save to memory. Use the same channel number as the original channel. You have 2 totally separate issues here.
BTW, I think

Re: memory power loss
You are using NiCd packs?
Original packs for the FT-60R have been NiMH. Charged properly, they should last about 750 discharge-charge cycles.
But the original AC wall wart that shipped with truen

Hardy, sorry about the mis spelling of your name, big fingers, and I did
not proof read my email. The more I think about it, it must be a battery
issue. Don't know how long No cad batteries last, I

Re: memory power loss
This is Jardy. If you want the power setting change to be permanent, make the change then SAVE the new settings in the same channel number. If you don’t save it, the changes will be temporary.

Re: memory power loss
Thanks Hardy. I have several batteries and have charged them, but it does
not seem to change anything. I set the power on low and hit the PTT. Works
fine, but I'd I turn off the radio, and then turn

Re: memory power loss
You have to save the new settings in the same memory slot. Also sounds like you need a new battery. You are not plugged into the wall wart, are you? The wall wart cannot provide enough oomph to

memory power loss
I have noticed that my FT-60 will NOT store the power setting for a
repeater frequency. I can manually set the Tx power setting to LOW, and it
will keep that setting. If I turn off the power or change

HF,
I used Treatstock for printing. Cost was $7.35 USD plus shipping to have the parts printed. Once you load the drawings on Treatstock you can select materials color etc. and you will be given a

Weight difference? Just don't super-size your fries next meal ... (g)
Modern NiMh cells will provide close to 750 charge-discharge cycles. Lithium about half as many.

Re: Making 3D printed battery case for FT-60R
Reduce weight.? The radio with antenna, battery case, and 6 NiMH 2.5 Ah Energizer cells has mass 364g.? I expect that substituting pouch cells will get this down to 251g which is only a little

Why go to Lithium?
The Yaesu FBA-25 works perfectly for Maha 2700 mAH NiMH cells.

Lack of reception on top half of 900 MHz amateur band
Hi all...
Part of the reason I bought an FT-60R is that it has receive coverage of the 900 MHz band.? To my dismay, I discovered that reception is blocked from 918.5 to 943.5 MHz.? In North America,
