Re: I'm expected to be comm support for the Boston Marathon tomorrow at 4:45 EDT. But I can't program the repeaters into my FT60R
You have to be in vfo mode to program channels, not memory mode. The 430.000 is a default frequency, the flashing 001 indicates that channel 001 is the first empty channel. Press vfo/mr again so the

Vandy, It isn¡¯t that one doc is better than another. People just learn in different ways. Here is my unofficial user¡¯s manual. I know it has a lot more than you need, but maybe it will work

Colin's cheat sheet is a simple as it gets and very complete. After restating the rig while pressing the MONI switch and hitting the ALLRST, I press the V/M key to toggle from VFO to Memory. ?There

Yes, I'm using the keyboard and, thanks to all the wonderful folk here (like you) I'm certain of what I'm doing. I'll cut an paste from another response to see if you have any ideas? ??When we get

You know, I agree with everything said positive about my FT60R. ?But I'm afraid it's gone over the the enemy. ?I follow the Cheat Sheet exactly. ?When we get to press F/W key for one second, the

You cannot get a ham radio easier to manually program than the FT-60. All the main functions you need are on the 1-4 keys on the keyboard. Colin¡¯s cheat sheet is the best. Jardy Dawson

If anyone can translate the documentation with the traps outlined where you can easily go wrong, I would be most appreciative and so will the people who are counting on me, at the moment - in vain.

Re: program. -- I truly believed that would work, until I tried it.
I'm sorry, but the documentation suffers, at times, from being opaque. ?I tried step-by-step, but lots of the steps are not adjacent to each other. ?And keys that are supposed to do one thing seem

Re: CHIRP difficulties with loading a code plug into an FT60R
My solution to getting Chirp to work with my three FT-60's was to get a better cable.? I purchased a cable which used an FTDI chip rather than a Prolific chip for the USB to serial conversion.? I

Re: CHIRP difficulties with loading a code plug into an FT60R
No need to purchase the RT system There is two ways to upload the Ft 60 into chirp, look in the chirp help file as it explain both options, as I had the same issue.

Re: Availability in Europe (2019) ?
Agree 100% with Clint. IMHO, the FT-65 is in no way a "successor" for the FT-60. Now, an honest question: If the FT-60E has been discontinued, and even though Yaesu USA has stated several times

Re: Availability in Europe (2019) ?
I will agree that the FT-60 is a fine radio, superior to the FT-65. It's my primary HT for PS events. The FT-60E does not appear on the Yaesu.com US site, but does on http://www.yaesu.co.uk and the

Re: Availability in Europe (2019) ?
FT-60R is still on the Yaesu website (I just looked), but the FT-60E doesn't appear to be there (it could be hidden beyond my casual look, of course). 73,? JERRY, N3AA

Re: Availability in Europe (2019) ?
If the FT-60E is gone, that is unfortunate. The FT-65 is a much lesser of a radio than the FT-60. -- Clint Bradford K6LCS http//www.work-sat.com

Re: Availability in Europe (2019) ?
Hi, according to a large retailer in Germany, the FT-60E is no longer available, at least cant be ordered by them online anymore... Seems that the FT-65 took over (for 98€) Maybe they still sell it
