Nolan, I have Motorola, Yaesu, Icom, and Wouxun HT's that all came from the factory with Li-Ion batteries and have had no problems whatsoever. On another note, perhaps the problem is with your

Re: Best antenna for airband (108-137Mhz) reception?
Jim, For base station use, I have good luck with a 300 ohm dipole hung vertically. I put mine about 30ft up in a big oak tree in my back yard, but attic deployment works OK as long as you dont have

Re: Best antenna for airband (108-137Mhz) reception?
Jim, Per the FT-60R specs in the back of the manual, Air Band sensitivity is .8uv which is much worse than the .2uv on 2m and 70cm. The reduced sensitivity coupled with an antenna not designed for the

You could build a discone antenna that should work well, pretty easily. I googled, and there were a lot of hits for it. To: FT-60@... Sent: Wednesday, July 20, 2016 6:25 PM Subject:

Re: Best antenna for airband (108-137Mhz) reception?
I don't think you are going to get any s\mall antenna that will be a big inprovement over the stock antenna. It will tune down there but is not designed to be a airband receiver. ?K3CLT Chuck

Re: FT-60 Possible Problem- suggestions?
I don't understand the problems everyone is having. I have had a FT-60 over two years and the only problem I have had is not using the batteries that everyone is trying to install to the FT-60. The

Re: FT-60 Possible Problem- suggestions?
Any Eneloop AA larger than 2000mHa is just too large in circumference to fit properly in the battery tray. Been there, done that. Expensive lesson. 73 John KU8Q

Re: FT-60 Possible Problem- suggestions?
I think someone mentioned that problem in this forum and, I think, a fix, but it has not been a problem here. You might try searching for "Eneloop" in the forum to see what pops up. 73, JERRY, N3AA

Re: FT-60 Possible Problem- suggestions?
I bought two Yaesu trays and enough Enloop AA batteries to fill them. They appear to hold their charge very well in storage; however, I can't get the clip to close. It appears the Enloops are slightly

Re: FT-60 Possible Problem- suggestions?
I think a good solution is to purchase one or two of the AA-cell battery trays for the radio (I just have one tray, but have been thinking of getting one more), each of which holds six batteries. Then
