Re: DIY Programming Cable

Well Dale, in my case it works without the diode and without resistor!

Re: DIY Programming Cable

Just one comment, the TX/RX line should not be just connected together. The correct way is to connect TXD line from the FTDI UART to the RXD line through a 1N4148 diode or similar. And both the RX/TX lines are pulled high using a single 10K resistor to the 3V3 line.

Re: DIY Programming Cable

Schematic and instructions for the programming cable can be found on my WEB site

Hope it will be? useful.

DIY Programming Cable

I uploaded to the files section my Quick & Dirty programming cable. The cable uses a cheap FTDI USB to RS232 (TTL) adaptor. The prototype has been assembled without soldering iron,
by just twisting together the few wires. I used it successfully to program memories with Chirp in my FT-60 under Windows 10.?
Hope it will be useful.?

I also like new pieces and I am ready to pay for that but someone maybe not…

Re: New FT-60 on eBay _ bargain

The price is more than what HRO sells new in the US. We must remember that prices here in the US are frelatively lower than in the rest of the world. The buyer may be comparing it with what it costs in his country.

Just my opinion

Re: New FT-60 on eBay _ bargain

I can see someone returning it back to the seller, it is clearly not "New" and there is dirt inside the speaker holes and it doesn't have the original antenna.

I've actually got a new FT-60 in my radio display cabinet along with a couple of other new radios. I like some so much I buy a spare. I've somehow ended up with 3 Kenwood TH-D7's.

It's sold off, now. I'm surprised at the prices I see. Even the used FT-60s there are asking more than HRO's price, plus shipping. And HRO looks to be in stock. Why buy a used FT60 for more than you can get it from the dealer, new?

If the picture shown is your item, then it is NOT brand new. It is used, with no manufacturer?
warranty.

Re: Programming Voltages

Built a cable using a little USB to serial converter (3.3V worked fine) and programmed it with the nicely designed software from G4HFQ. This will save me a lot of clicks and beeps manually entering everything.
