Re: Making a Yaesu FT-60 digital??
We support something similar: a running relay race. Two differences with
yours

which we need to process.
(2) we use packet

The app sounds like it could be useful if it would work on later versions of Android. I tried to download it but Google Play says it is only compatible with earlier versions of Android. Perhaps you

Re: Making a Yaesu FT-60 digital??
For many years we have supported a couple of Ultra runs with
Amateur Radio. Many of the aid stations have no cell coverage and
we used to send info about each runner to start/finish net control

Re: Making a Yaesu FT-60 digital??
Good morning Scott
While I have not used a Digirig, they seem to be very cool. It was
reviewed in QST sometime in the last 2 years.

Hi all,
So I saw this video on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CccMgNh8ExY.? So this video proves this Digirig will work with the FT-60, so that helps.? I still don't understand how it

Re: So I am hopelessly lost on this FT-60R
Hi all,
Sorry, it's been crazy busy lately...Ok, update:? I talked to a local ham in Somerset, he checked my list (some were digital, and as such are pointless for me) and gave me some other

Wonder no longer! https://www.qrz.com/db/KC3VUH
Certainly there were hams at Scott’s VE session. It might have been through
this club:

I hope he hasn’t given up.

Re: So I am hopelessly lost on this FT-60R
My suggestion is to find an Elmer locally. Can’t be that difficult to find. I’m also wondering if Scott is a licensed ham?????

Re: So I am hopelessly lost on this FT-60R
Just to clarify, the NWS stations can be copied on any VHF receiver capable of receiving FM on the above frequencies (scanners, many amateur rigs and HTs). There are"special" weather-only receivers

Re: So I am hopelessly lost on this FT-60R
I would still try a full reset, then tune through the weather radio frequencies. (long press of 1 on the keypad to switch to that frequency range, and turn the clicky knob)

Re: So I am hopelessly lost on this FT-60R
Even quiet repeaters send their IDs in some form. If Scott hears no
periodic IDs from his nearby repeaters, something isn’t right.
Nets won’t help Scott if he can’t hear them and that seems to

Re: So I am hopelessly lost on this FT-60R
T-Sql is Tone Squelch - the tone the receiver must hear from the repeater in order to unsquelch. Most repeaters do not send tones. What you want is most likely "T" or Tone, which the FT-60 transmits

Re: So I am hopelessly lost on this FT-60R
I guess I just don’t understand the need for programming software. I am totally blind, and I can input the necessary information to bring up a repeater simply by listening to the tones the radio
