Re: FT 60 MICROPHONE
I use a Pryme Trooper on my FT-60 because it's weather resistant and somewhat noise canceling. The plug fits the radio properly. John KU8Q

Re: FT 60 MICROPHONE
I would encourage getting the Yaesu speaker/microphone for use with the FT-60. It's a good durable microphone which is designed to seat properly in the receptacle on the radio. I've had problems

Re: FT 60 MICROPHONE
From MFJ, they have the suffix "I" for Icom, "K" for Kenwood, and Y for the regular Yaesu 4 conductor pin, and "R" for the newer Yaesu 4 pin screw-in. I don't think those last two are

Jardy is right... Just a note on using CHIRP software on a Mac. The good news is it works just fine. The bad news is that an extra step is required to download and run a program, which, in the

Re: New to the FT-60 Repeater question
Forgot to add that the FT-60 is absolutely the easiest radio to manually program. There are none that I know of that is easier. Jardy Dawson WA7JRD Message sent through sub space hailing frequencies

Re: New to the FT-60 Repeater question
My recommendation would be for you to obtain the ADMS software. Although it is certainly possible, and not terribly difficult, to program manually, it is a somewhat tedious process. MUCH easier to do

Re: New to the FT-60 Repeater question
Welcome to a great hobby, Henry. One other caveat I must mention.......In rare cases, when you program a repeater, the FT-60 thinks it should be a "positive" (+) offset, when in fact there are

Re: New to the FT-60 Repeater question
Henny, The auto repeater function only works when programming. IF THE FT60 is in VFO mode, the frequency on screen will be the frequency for both receive and transmitt. This is a great radio to

Re: New to the FT-60 Repeater question
I guess the answer is that if you have programmed the repeater frequency , tone, and offset, the repeater will answer you back. The FT-60 doesn't really "know" you wanted to talk to a repeater. On
