Re: Can't delete memories/ any suggestions
开云体育Here is an alternate interpretation of that user manual page: ? ? starting on page 32. You will see the line “FW 1s/DIAL/HMRV” which is the sequence. The “1s” means press for 1 second. I tested it on my radio and it worked for me. ? Rick ? From: FT-60@... [mailto:FT-60@...]

Re: Can't delete memories/ any suggestions
开云体育Try over-writing each one you want to delete with 0.0-that usually does it for me, but if you're gonna? do that, you might as well put in the new frequency that you want to change it to. Either way will work. Good luck!

开云体育I just contacted Yaesu about this problem. ?I finally managed to delete a memory channel with the help from Tim, one of their very helpful technical support people. ? The secret was barely touching the "HM/RV" key. ?And I mean much more than a slight touch will result in starting all over!! ?I find this a bit frustrating, so usually I just wait until the next time I update my FT-60R with the RT Systems Software. ?Tim's email is included below. The instructions on Page 32 of your Operating Manual, are correct.? Re: Beep-beep-beep when transmitting
If the beeps are coming through a repeater you might want to check to see if they have the WIRES function activated. Look for the little electron symbol on the screen. If it is on then push the ZERO key on the touch pad so it the symbol goes away. This beep normally covers up the first couple seconds of a transmission.

Re: New user ? - charging FT-60
Jim K5JG
FT-60's manufactured prior to early 2013 CAN be charged with either the
AC adapter plugged into the side of the radio or with the drop-in charger. FT-60's manufactured since early 2013 can ONLY be charged in the drop-in charger. The change was made due to a California law that requires chargers that put out over 5 volts to automatically shut-off when the device is fully charged, something the wall wart cannot do. 73, Jim K5JG On 6/6/2017 9:57 AM, Gerald Stein nv7gs1@... Re: New user ? - charging FT-60
开云体育I leave mine in the charging cradle continuously and have been doing that for the last couple of years. My understanding is the only way the radio can be charged is in the cradle. It can be powered using the DC plug on the side, but that does not charge the battery. Beep-beep-beep when transmitting
We are experimenting with using simplex frequencies for our local ARES
group. Tonight we had three members who use the FT-60 have a beep-beep-beep... when transmitting. It's not the Wires beep. Any ideas what causes this? Thanks Phill KF7SJK -- Phill Vanderschaegen Madras, OR KF7SJK |
Re: Primary transmit channel when scanning
开云体育The radio transmits on the memory channel that is currently displayed.? There is no designated transmit channel. When scanning and you hear something you want to reply to, briefly
press the PTT.? The radio will stop scanning and you will
transmit on the displayed channel (next time you press PTT). 73, Nick, AA3T Sent from our laptop On 6/3/2017 1:05 AM,

Primary transmit channel when scanning
I've tried searching here and the manual but need a hand finding an answer.? How do I set a primary transmit channel?? Say I am scanning but want to transmit only on a specific channel, is there a way to set that?
Second follow up.? Say I am scanning again, is there an easy way to transmit back on the received channel?? I've set the home channel, but if I am monitoring 2 channels what is the best way to make sure I reply back on the correct freq? 73 Sean KG7JVU |
Re: Using Banks with the RT Systems software
I'm with Joe,
Mine is set up for the areas of the country where I travel.
1 is for local at home
2 is for New England?
3 is for Florida
4 is for MARS channels
2 and 3 above include Coast Guard and most used Maritime frequencies for their ares.?
2 uses more maritime frequencies for the fishing and charter boat businesses and local fire department
3 the maritime frequencies are for the larger ports that handle container ships, yachts, and coastal channels.
All fun stuff.

Re: Using Banks with the RT Systems software
You are right . . . that's the way to do it.
When the RTSystems application is opened, it looks like a spreadsheet where you enter frequencies, tone, etc.? Over on the right side of the spreadsheet are columns titled Bank 1, Bank 2, etc., etc.? If you want a freq to be on, say, Bank 3, check the Bank 3 box for that freq. I have my FT-60 set up for: Bank 1:? Local repeaters and simplex freqs Bank 2:? All 144 repeater freqs Bank 3:? All 432 repeater freqs Bank 4:? Local public service freqs (sheriff, fire, rescue, Coast Guard, etc.) Bank 5:? SaudiSat SO-51 split freq operation. Bank 6:? Something, I forget. Joe W4HH |
Re: Using Banks with the RT Systems software
I do not use CHIRP for my FT-60 but have down loaded it to chirp in case I would like to at some later date.? Chirp does support BANKS for the FT-60, and selecting frequencies to banks is done in much the same way as explaned by WN6WJN for his RT systems software, or for the FTB60 software from G4HFQ software (http://www.g4hfq.co.uk/)? that I use.? Just look at the left side of the chirp screen.? You should see 3 "tabs" MEMORY. BANKS, & SETTINGS.? Just select the banks tab, then your frequencies can be selected to banks by checking boxes on the displayed screen.
