His radio is probably locked. Ask him if there is an icon of a lock on the screen. He can press and hold the 6 key to unlock. What is locked can be changed in the menu settings. He should look in

I don't think you are going to get any s&#92;mall antenna that will be a big inprovement over the stock antenna. It will tune down there but is not designed to be a airband receiver. ?K3CLT Chuck
