Hard Leather Case LCC-150
Yaesu did, indeed, make a hard leather case that was easily "modded" for our FT-60R. Look in the FILES area here, and scroll down to ... ft60case.jpg

Re: This is for fun ONLY but is there...
I haven¡¯t found the need for a case. The radio, itself, seems to be built out of pretty tough material.

Cases for FT-60r Seems that there is a selection of third party solutions. Really had not investigated cases for the FT-60r. From custom <http://www.hpfriedrichs.com/radioroom/ft-60r/rr-ft60.htm> to

Re: This is for fun ONLY but is there...
Mark, In case you don't already know this, you will have to go with an aftermarket case as Yaesu does not offer one for the FT-60. 73, Jim K5JG

Re: This is for fun ONLY but is there...
The first step is to USE IT! As you use the radio, in your own manner, you will determine what shortcomings it has in your approach. For example, I like to monitor mine while driving in a cargo van.

This is for fun ONLY but is there...
Happy New Year All From a Tenderfoot perspective what would be the order you would propose to buy radio accessories? For example I would advise a newbie to buy, in order: 1a) A better antenna 1b) A

Re: Just got my radio tonight Merry Christmas!
Ok, makes sense, then. Had you mentioned three hams in the house than thinking of it as 3 HTs per ham it doesn't sound so unusual. I like the idea of the "cheap" radios so you're not that upset if one

Re: Just got my radio tonight Merry Christmas!
I have 3 hams in the house. The rest come under the previously mentioned "illness" clause of being a ham, to an extent. You will go through a learning curve of figuring out which radio and features

Re: Just got my radio tonight Merry Christmas!
For solid 2m/440 local performance, the FT-60R cannot be beat. The Kenwood TH-F6a adds dual-receive capability, and the 220 amateur band. As well as receiving SSB. The Kenwood TH-D72a adds true

Re: Just got my radio tonight Merry Christmas!
I'm curious... 9 HTs... with the FT60 being the first. There haven't been that many new and exciting ones since, so I'm curious as to 1) which others you have and 2) why one would need NINE of them.

Re: Just got my radio tonight Merry Christmas!
I have 9 HT's. But I still have and use my FT-60 from time to time, which was also my first purchase. I went straight from my test to HRO and purchased it the same day. It is, hands down, the easiest

Re: Just got my radio tonight Merry Christmas!
As far as HT's go, you just keep buying more expensive ones till you get one that is too complicated to use, then you put that on the shelf and go back to the last one you could understand. Thats why
