A/ it was purchased as a Li-ion charger B/ The contacts are for Li-ion (contacts for Nimh are reversed) E.g the Nimh battery would not 'fit' C/ Everybody (Amazon and Ebay), sells the cd-47 as the li-ion charger. Some chargers have 4 contacts, some 3, all are listed as Li-ion. I suspected that the 4 contacted chargers would do both types, but that seems to be wrong. My (new) LI-ion charger has double contacts on the left side and my ancient Nimh charger has them on the right side, no mistake to make. My Li-ion charges correctly to 8.1 volts (a little low).? The supplied wallwart will charge it to 8.4 volts.
