I would get a cheap speaker mic that fits the radio off eBay. Make sure it has an earphone jack on it, then plug your mono headset into that.?

CT-44 won't do it.? I don't think what you want is achievable.? I believe when you plug anything into the external speaker/microphone port it shuts off the built in speaker and microphone.? If you just plug headphones into the CT-44 you won't be able to talk.? You'll need a headset with a microphone if you want to communicate.?
