I've heard of the problem with the mic plug but my experience doesn't agree.? Since I got the radio and an MFJ speaker/mic I have always routed the mic cord under the belt clip and attached the support ring around the base of the antenna.? I've never had a
problem with the plug coming loose.? I have two HTs and the FT-60 is my go-to radio for public service events.

The only shortcoming of the FT-60 is the mic plug arrangement. Tough to keep it plugged in all the way.

There is nothing inherently wrong with new FT-60R units out of the box - I would
never
consider doing this.
