Re: Headset

I work events, some fairly noisy. Since I have to communicate with people by talking, I need one ear free, so a single ear unit would be necessary.?

Give a person a fish and you fed them for a day. Teach a person to use the Internet and they won't bother you for weeks, months, maybe years. - Author Unknown?

Are you working events? In a noisy environment? Or just want the convenience of a speaker-mic / headset?

When I worked a NASCAR event, I used a custom-molded earpiece for my left ear, and a 22db quieting earplug in my right. I was better protected from noise than the guys in the pits with those headsets ... There is nothing more comfortable than a custom-made ear mold ... Audiologists make them.

Do you want single-ear coverage, or both ears?

Heil has his new HTH lightweight HT headset: mini-boom mic, and single ear speaker. Model HTT-Y is the one for the Yaesu 3.5mm / 4-conductor jack on our FT-60R rigs. Comfortable unit.

To cover both ears, Heil has answers for you, too.?

SO - What do you want from a headset? Complete isolation to the point of not hearing the phone ring or people yell at you? (grin) Or a more sinple single-ear earpiece of some sort?
