Question about FT60R vs. the FT60E

Kerby Rials

Hey! Glad to be on this great group with a lot of activity.

I got my Yaesu FT60R in the US as I am a US licensed ham, but I am in Europe for the next year and a half for work. I have been able to hit the 2 meter repeaters using my FT60R, but none of the 440 ones. In checking out why, my ham friends here (Radio Club des Ardennes) and I discovered that the repeater shift for 440 is different in Europe. There appears to be no work around (that I know of) for this in the manual.

Does anyone have any tips on this? Is it possible, for instance, to reprogram the radio to make it a FT60E using the software (which I purchased when I got the radio). Or will it be simply impossible to hit the 440 repeaters in Europe?

Thanks for any help!

God bless,
