Out of curiosity I was thinking of getting some new eneloops for my FT60 since I have the AA battery case for it.? I assume you are using the 2000mah eneloops or the newer 2500mah eneloops?? Also what kind of runtime are you seeing, I know the battery pack with the FT60 gives me plenty of runtime, just wondering about the eneloops.

I use Sanyo Eneloop batteries in the alkaline case.? I remove the cells from the case and charge them in a MAHA C-9000 charger (actually a pair of chargers), which is an excellent charger for AA/AAA NiMH cells.
Nice thing is that this philosophy can be applied to several of the HT's I own.? I no longer need to buy replacement battery packs, and I don't need to use a different charger for each radio.
Wish I'd have done this before I bought all those chargers!

Searched the archives for this info. The most recent post I found was over 4 yrs old & some of the chargers are NLA. My FT-60 uses a FNB-83 7.2 volt NiMH battery. Anyone bought a smart charger recently & care to rate it?
