I have about a dozen repeaters in my area, in 2 meter, and 70cm bands.? I found it pretty easy to put them in.? There are only 3 or 4 that needed tones, but that was easy, too.? It took me about 30 minutes of fooling around with it after reading over the instructions.? I was actually pleased at how simple it was once it I had the ah ha moment.? thanks, Dennis 73

Depending on your location and your needs, you may not need a cable. ?Did you put the PL tones (if any) into the frequency? ?If you don't travel much and only have a few repeaters in your area, programming by hand is the best and cheapest way. ?Also it prepares you for the rare occurrences when you're away from the computer and want to put in another frequency.

I'm new to the world of HAM, but I do not know what programming is needed for the FT-60. I just saved my local repeaters in memory and gave them a name. Is there more that I am missing. I don't have any programming cable. ???
