Group Specifically for FTDX101mp or FTDX101D?

Brian Deuby

Hi.

I've searched 开云体育 for a user group for the FTDX101mp or? (FTDX101D) - but can't find one. Can someone please point me in the right direction on 开云体育 or elsewhere?

Thanks

Re: Need help diagnosing and fixing a Yaesu YC-500 frequency counter

Check the transistors emitter. since there is a capacitor. you shouldn't see much of a signal if any.? The bypass could be bad, and that could cause low gain and the output to be incorrect.

Hi all,

As a weekend project I decided to attempt to repair a non-working YC-500 frequency counter "just for fun." The problem I have identified so far is that it does not generate its internal 1 MHz reference. The reference assembly is a small PCB module with what appears to be a straightforward crystal oscillator and divide-by-10 SN7490 IC. Unfortunately, the IC is not outputting anything. The input to the IC is a 10 MHz sine wave, about 1.5 volt p-p amplitude, centered around +1.5V. I am not sure if this is the proper amplitude and offset to pass through the hysteresis points of the 7490 input to trigger it. The +5V supply is clean and running at +5.05V.

The reference board appears to be untouched, other than my having removed both transistors to check them (both are fine) and then replaced them, and having swapped out the 7490 for a known good one. The symptoms have not changed. Any ideas?

I've attached the schematic of the reference oscillator and a screen grab of the input to the 7490.

Thanks,

Re: Need help diagnosing and fixing a Yaesu YC-500 frequency counter

Idon't think I have worked on TTL for 40 years. As I remember a low is less than maybe 1/2
?Volt and a High is at least 3 1/2 volts. The circuit input should never go negative. Usually a shotkey? input would be used to square up the sine wave. If you can remove the "90 input and inject a clock? signal, that would show if it works, or even just take the input hi to vcc a few times. Those IC's? do go bad.? But I would look at the input signal not being right.
I will look at what you have sent and reply again.

Selling in the group

Selling is allowed in this group for ham radio equipment only, and at least one of the items for sale must be related to the purpose of the group. We require that anything being sold here have a price with it. So "make offer" or anything like that will not be an acceptable post here. Please indicate if shipping is included, otherwise leave it out. Also, please indicate the general location of the equipment for sale, so others will know if it’s within driving distance for them, and if you're willing to meet someone X miles away from that location.

If you have any information about the item, please add it, as it will make it more likely that it will sell.

Just list similar to the following. This was a suggestion for the SWAN-AMATEUR-RADIO group. Just replace the Swan item with one that would fit the purpose of this group:

Swan 350D, great cosmetic condition, may need new final tubes since output drops somewhat on 15 and 10 meters. Model 117XC AC power supply included. Asking $325.00 OBO. Located near Charlotte, NC. Will drive up to 25 miles from Charlotte for pickup or delivery. Call 444-444-4444, or email hamoperator@....

Try also posting this in the Fox Tango group and the amateur-repairs group. One
of these should get you your answer if this one does not. Our group here is
still small and new.

AM filter workaround

FT-107M Question

I have a recently acquired FT-107m that works amazingly well, except the power out on 80m is a bit low. All other bands are 100w or better (10m slightly less). All tested into a 50 ohm dummy load. My questions are:? What is the likely cause of this, and is there an adjustment for this? My experience is limited with SS gear, so I am not as up to snuff on it as I am with vacuum tube gear. I have the service manual.? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Marc-k7wxk

HF Transceiver, PS. DTMF Mic and more FS

Yaesu HF Transceiver, Power Supply, DTMF
Hand Microphone, and more For Sale:

.

Yaesu FT-840 HF Transceiver:

The compact Yaesu FT-840 has two direct
digital synthesizers and rotary encoder that
provide silky-smooth tuning. The excellent
general coverage receiver tunes .1-30 MHz
in 10 Hz steps. The FT-840 uses a die-cast RF
power amp with thermally switched fan to
ensure up to 100 watts output.

Other features include backlit 10 Hz LCD, IF
shift, reverse CW, dual VFOs, 100 memories,
attenuator, noise blanker, meter, scan modes,
automatic antenna tuner, and speech processor.

9.5 x 3.7 x 7 inches.
Requires 13 VDC at 20 Amps.

Features:
0.1-30 MHz Receive
100 Memories
LCD Display
IF Shift
Noise Blanker
Adjustable RF Power
100 Watts Output
Automatic Antenna Tuner
Attenuator
Dual VFO's
Squelch

This particular unit works like it should.
Cosmetically, it is exceptionally good.
It has one scratch that you can see if the
light is just right.

With paper work for $425.

.

Kenwood PS-430 Power Supply:

I know it is not Yaesu, but it works great
with the Yaesu FT-840 above. It is direct
"Plug and Play" with the FT-840.

The Kenwood PS-430 power supply provides
13.8 VDC at 20 Amps intermittent. Ripple
voltage is less than 20 mV at 13.8 VDC and
15 A. Input is 120/220/240 VAC.

This is a linear power supply, so no need to
worry about noise from a switching supply.

The rear panel has a hardwired Kenwood
power cable (6 pin molex connector) to connect
directly to the TS-120/130/140/430/440/450
and others. Actually it will work fine with any
rig that uses the 6 pin molex plug, including
Icom and Yaesu and others.

There are also "plus" and "minus" terminal
outputs (10 Amps max) on the back, useful for
a VHf/UHF rig.

A snap-down tilt bail is on the bottom panel
to increase the operating angle.
6.8 x 3.75 x 9.675 inches 15.4 lbs.

This one works like it should, with great output.

Re: FT-107m Dummy Plug

I finally figured it out after studying the schematic for the power supply and the rig. Looks like pins 1&3 are connected when using the internal ac supply.

FT-818 CW tuning indicator

Hi

vy nice in RIGS FT-857 / 897 the CW Tuning LED (goes to blue if QRG matches) I enjoi this really.

This I am vy missing in FT-818

Now sometimes use the Wolfwave or a DIY Audio Filter - but then you have to parts to handle...

Any forcast for an update from Yaesu ?

For things like this, I like to increase my chances of getting the information I
need by posting in other relevant groups, too. These would seem to be other good
places to join and post:

/g/Amateur-repairs

and maybe check mods.dk to see if a manual is available there that has the
schematic for that. You can only download one document per day for free from
there but sometimes it's the only place to find old manuals.

Yaesu YM-38 Deluxe Desk Microphone:

The Yaesu YM-38 is a deluxe goose neck
type desk microphone. But it is more than
most microphones.

The PTT switch also has a locking position.
It has Up, Down, and F/S switches.

It can be used on most any rig since it has
a switch for 50 K (high) impedance, or 500
ohm (low) impedance.

This one presently has a round 8 pin connector,
obviously wired for Yaesu, which makes it
usable on TenTec as well as other rigs.

This one has the mic element replaced with
a Heil HC-5, which is Heil's mic element
with extra "punch" for working DX.

This particular unit looks like new cosmetically,
with no scratches or defects. It also works
perfectly.

Buy it with paper work for only $120
