YD7001 & Digitrax PM74

I have just tried to connect a PM74 onto a YD7001 to give us multiple districts with short protection.
I have done this on other layouts at our club but using a Digitrax DCS210 as the base unit and all works find.
According to the PM74 documentation it should be as simple as taking the track wires from the YD7001 as the main input and then PM74 will split into districts.
However I wire straight from the YD7001 to the track and everything works. Then put the track feed through the PM74 all the leds light green but no power to the track.
Any ideas?
cheers
Graham

thanks for this, another suggestion I have received is to turn off Railcom on the YD7001, so will be trying that today.

Thanks for the suggestion, tried turning off Railcom this afternoon and all worked.
Just some timing configuration to get right and the issue with Slot Max to sort all will be good.
cheers
Graham

Yep, unfortunately Digitrax is not "best friends" with RailCom.?

Some years ago we contacted them for LocoNet extensions for RailCom, but the response was: We do not have, nor plan to include RailCom. It's a European thing and virtually non-existent with our customers. So they denied the our proposition :'(

Yes, the North American is enamored with sound decoders. Decoder manufacturers think this ?the best way to go. US MFG’s do not want to spend a few penny’s to make the decoders Railcom Friendly.

?

Also the Railcom protocol is in the NMRA standards from the beginning.? Railcom+ was introduced in the last few years.

Perhaps the reason Railcom a virtually non-existent with Digitrax users is because they don’t provide it??

It is strange how many people change from Digitrax to ‘European’ manufacturers because the want Railcom ? if Digitrax inlcuded it then people would (might?) be buying Digitrax and not alternative offerings.

But that would mean acceptance of people other than them having to admit that they don’t know everything ?

Many Thanks

Digitrax has a product called Transponding. ?Their version of Railcom. ?
?
?
Perhaps that is why they don't want to support Railcom as it is a competing product.
?
I am speculating that it might have been released before the Railcom standard was announced by the NMRA.
?

And transponding is used by …

Not even my American friends use it - in fact many had never even heard of it.

Many Thanks

I have exactly one German Friend. Who used to be Digitrax adept... INCLUDING transponding.

Spent a fortune on their decoders, never got it to work on his huge Layout ==> Around at the walls of a 25x25 meter room...
Then switched to RailCom and DR5088RC ;)?
