DK50018 working intermittently with iTrain

Hi?

Has anyone come across a fault I've picked up today. I've recently installed some new track and pointwork and I'm using a DK50018 to power the MP5 point motors and set to preset 6, it has been working faultlessly whilst testing until tonight where iTrain sets the route on the switchboard but the point doesn't phisically change, when I test it with the app via bluetooth the points motor faultlessly every time they are switched but when I go back to iTrain or the DR5000 app on the computer and the points don't motor. I've deleted the point in iTrain and re-entered the values and reassigned it on the switchboard. I've restored the DK50018 back to factory and re-configured it and the fault is still the same. I can only think that the DK50018 is faulty, its a bit strange though as it has been working fine the past couple of weeks. Does anyone have any other ideas I can try? I've run out of ideas!?

Thanks in advance.

Matt?

Do you have the correct interface and/or the correct output device selected in the iTrain turnout definition?

Hi Iain.

Thanks for the reply. Yes just checked and the correct interface is selected in the turnout definition, it is the same as the other 20 odd turnouts I have working from DR4018s which are all working from iTrain as you would expect. The fault is with the only 3 turnouts that are wired to the DK50018. One thing that is in the back of my mind is that I've updated iTrain with the latest update but then that doesnt explain why the turnouts don't work with the DR5000 app on the computer. Is it possible/doyou think it is worth rolling iTrain back to before the last update?

Matt?

I very much doubt that there is any issue with iTrain. If there was then then thousands of users would have reported issues ¨C and no-one has. From what you describe the common failure point is the DR50018 and I think you need to be looking at the configuration of that device.

Cheers Iain?

It's now working again. Don't ask me how or why! I was running trains as normal and then the layout shorted out due to a train running through a point then iTrain wasn't recieving any railcom info I reverted back to one of the back up files from earlier this morning which brought the railcom back online and lo and behold one of the 3 points that are wired to the DR50018started to work as well. I reset the DR50018 again back to factory and set it up again using exactly the same process as I had several times last night and everything now works. Bloody electronics!!! Thanks for your help and speedy responses, no doubt we'll speak again!?

Matt??
