DR5000 vs YD7001: Bridge function

I just bought two YD9401 modules to upgrade my personal DR5000 and also to upgrade the DR5000 at the model railroad club.

The upgrade of my personal DR5000 to a YD7001 worked just fine. I use the WLAN of the YD7001 for connecting my single WLAN Multimaus.

The setup I use at the club is different. I use an external WiFi Access Point connected to DR5000¡¯s LAN-connector and then I use the bridge function in the DR5000. The reason for this setup is due to the fact that the layout is very large and we need good WiFi-coverage over the whole layout. The WLAN transmitter in the DR5000 is Off.

No to the questions, is it possible to setup the YD7001 to use an external WiFi Access Point connected directly to the LAN-port without an external router? If yes, what would the settings look like?

The reason for the questions above is that I cannot find a bridge function in the YD7001 settings.

The YD9401 does NOT have a bridge nor router function. Since it was THE biggest security hole in the DR5000.

Apart from that, there are specialized devices for that, that make thise functions way better end secure.

Thx for the quick response.

I plan then to solve this by adding an external simple router connecting both the YD7001 and the external WiFi Access Point to this router. The WiFi-transmission in the YD7001 will be switched Off and the external WiFi Access point will be used to connect all of the WLAN Multimauses to the YD7001.
