Re: Digikeijs to Yamorc conversion......

Pete,

Do you already have any DR4024s? YaMoRC is not a closed ecosystem, it supports NMRA DCC and Digitrax's?proprietary?(but licensed to several companies) LocoNet, so there's a lot of different equipment that's compatible with it one way or another.

A QuadLN_S is a good option for servos, if you want DCC, TAM Valley has some options. Probably best to steer away from the Digitrax DS78V, but that is technically a compatible option. ESU has a SwitchPilot Servo that's meant to go with their ECoS system, but it is NMRA DCC compliant.

Hi Guys,

I'm running my home layout on Itrain with Digikeijs equipment, apart from the DR5000 which has a YD9401 upgrade. I have been asked to plan a new layout for our club. We would like to use one manufacturers equipment throughout. I have managed to find the Yamorc equivalents for DR4088 = YD6016, DR4018 = YD8116, DR5000 = YD7010. But, I cannot find the equivalent for the DR4024 servo controller. I could use a YD8116 with relays or opto couplers on the output to feed an Arduino that drives the servos and the frog switching. But that seems to be the long way round when there used to be a really nice solution with the DR4024.

So, my main question is this, is there another module that will drive servos or do I go to my Arduino?

My follow up question is that while some Yamorc dealers are out there, there does not seem to be much in stock. And looking on the Yamorc web site many items are price TBD, delayed, na, cancelled, etc. So if we (the club) decide to go ahead and fit Yamorc equipment, where do I get it from? And bearing in mind I am in New Zealand, the answer could be anywhere in the world.

Pete S.
