Is see just a component failure of the 7805 regulator in the DR5033

Well, I do see a bit more than "just" a blown 7805.
?
Further, in Europe ( maybe because we have 230VAC on our outlets ?? ) an number of those old PSU's caused a) fire ? and b) sponteaneously changed voltage. I personally witnessed this at DK's production site in Almere, where the tester blew away 10 pcs DR5052 in succession, because of 5 (!!) brand new? ADJ PSU's delivering 26VDC instead of the set 19VDC ??
?
In the end, DK was forced to withdraw the ADJ PSU's from the market, due to damage-claims from customers...?
Apart from that those ADJ's are very, very noisy. I never used them, since from the moment Roy proudly presented them I found they are reall crap ... Thay are so noisy, that one piece in my workshop would case all (!!!) Powerline Network Adapters to stop working...
Then, unfortunately they started to sell GST60A15-P1J power supplies... again the wrong ones, since the PE (Protective Earth) from the mains-plug has a direct connection to the GND output terminal ???
In Europe, this is NOT allowed for use with modelrailroads. Since one can touch the bare PE in this way ( via the rails for instance ).?
?
All this was for us the reason to (let) produce our own PSU's to our own specs. A decent alternative to those are the GSM60A15-P1J ( = medical use ) PSU series.
