I can also connect to my Z21 system using iTrain, Z21 Maint App, and JMRI simultaneously with each one seeing updates from the others as they happen. ? ?

I am able to use my DR5000 via Loconet from multiple machines and with multiple different software packages, but using the LAN connection, not the USB connection. Doing things this way, commands from one machine result in updates being propagated to all the attached machines. Sharing USB connections is tricksy, but the LAN connection is easy to share.
