I have just completed and returned a 6 board modular layout I have bult to a friend and all the track feedbacks and turnout feedbacks are handled by Digikeigs DR4088 S88 modules. I have used a mix of 11 units, Current sensing for the track feedbacks and Ground units for the Turnout feedbacks (2 feedbacks per turnout) this info is then passed to ITrain via the YD7001. (DR5000 with upgrade) All the above worked fine until the layout was moved to its permanant home and then when it was being re connected, The problem arose that as soon as i started conecting more than 6 of the S88 modules then the feedbacks became eratic and random? feedbacks started flashing all over the layout. 2 days of troubleshooting which included swaping out the link cables swapping module positions around etc would not solve this. The above issue shows in both Itrain and also the S88 feedback monitor on the YAMORC YD7001 software. Ok question time Is there a limit to the number of S88 modules than can be in line? Is this a common issue with the digikeigs DR4088 family of modules. Are the YamorC replacements more reliable? Would using YAMORC YD6016 Loconet modules be better?
