Ok so it¡¯s not a 50/60 cycle hum. Could be a hum ?induced by the DCC signal but I don¡¯t think that¡¯s likely. If you have other DR4018¡¯s and there ok I have a chat with you supplier.
Cheers?

Ryan,
? ? ? ? ?I have a 12v 3a external power supply going to the power input on the DR4018. The turnouts make the constant buzzing noise whether the power supply is plugged in?or not. James Hudson suggested I change CV47 to 6 but that made it worse. I have also done a reset of the DR4018 with no change. The turnouts do respond to a throw command but they buzz constantly as long as track power is turned?on.
Don
Don,

I would go ahead and loop the signal wires to the power input.? This should balance it out.? I have never tried to run power into the signal side without power in the power side.?

See if this fixes the issue and you might also double check that CV47 is on 0.

Hi all,
? ? ? ? ?Today I connected 3 new n-scale Kato unitrack turnouts to a new DR4018 turnout controller. I am using the DR4101 turnout modules as required. Upon turning on track power from my DR5000, all 3 turnout motors are making a very noticeable buzzing noise. This is happening before I plug in a separate 12v 3a power supply to the DR4018. The DR4018 is set to preset 0 as it came from the factory. I have track power wires feeding the signal input on the DR4018. It seems as though the power from the signal input is somehow energizing the turnout motors. I have other Kato unitrack turnouts controlled by Digitrax DS64's that do not make any type of sound unless they are being thrown. Any thoughts as to what may be going on ? Thanks in advance for any help.
