Re: I-M253 in Scotland
I note the absence on Z2535 or equivalent on , which one of my cousins claimed was"proficient" in Scotland and posted several YouTube vids re this, have conferred with Dr. Bruce Durie, sennachie of his clan Chief, BSc (Hons) PhD OMLJ FIGRS, Consultant Genealogist and Heraldist, Author, Broadcaster, Lecturer, and I asked him if there was any evidence of concentration of I-Z2535 (or precursors or downstreams) in Scotland, and he was kind enough to examine our Slaton project results and respond, and his opinion is basically the same as that promulgated by Ken Nordtvedt: more Anglo-Saxon than anything else.

Twigstat
开云体育I’m curious to hear if anyone has learned if anyone, any company, is beginning to use?Twigstat?to build out, aka enhance, family trees for the public. ?Twigstat was recently written about in an article in Nature (#637) January 1. Twigstat is an open source method written in C++ and R.Twigstat has intrigued me because I am one of the old guys that used to work with Ken Nordtvedt, snp by snp, trying to figure out if I had some Viking in me. The article in Nature says that Twigstat was used to trace the movements of Northern Europeans from AD 1 to AD 1000, My paper trail only goes back to Scotland circa 1680. ?If only there was a way to skip back 1500 years. Genetic genealogy speaking, the future of family trees may be just around the corner. Hopefully I might be around to see it. Jim Robeson,? 开云体育Aaron, ?thanks for joining the I-A5716 project! You fit right in.It’d be nice to have a Hill upgrade to Big Y at some point, but there’s no doubt which part of the I-A5716 tree they belong to. Aaron,?
I'm not sure of your interest in this haplogroup, but we now know that I-A5716 is not downstream of I-Z58. Instead it is directly downstream of I-DF29. If you manage a kit that is either confirmed A5716+ or A5734+ or matches kits who have a haplogroup like this, please join our haplogroup project at ?

I have looked for archived copies of Ken's site, which is now offline, but without much success. Anyone know of people who have saved material from his old site? I am particularly interested in this document,?. |

Re: Y DNA Haplogroup Comparisons
开云体育The same can be done on FTDNA’s Y-DNA Haplotree. Their tree is in fact bigger than Y’full’s ? Fr?n: [email protected] <[email protected]> F?r Hans De Beule ? Re: I-Z58
I am not sure how accurate and relevant these designations are anymore, but here are my results:
Haplo-I Subclades and probabilities are as follows:
I-M253-T13 =>29%? I-M253-AS1H =>22%? I-M253-AS9a =>13%? I-M253-ND =>11%? I-M253-ASgen =>10%? I-M253-AS1 =>4%? I-L22-N =>4%? I-L22-Bothnia =>3%? I-M253-AS6 =>2%?? |
