Very interesting.? Did you get any rate over background in your shield?? Did you try with a scaler and a pancake? A statistical analysis might be required.
I have read that meteorites have little radioactivity because the processes that concentrate U and Th have not occurred like on earth, even with "differentiated" types.
It would be fun to look for it though!
