Re: X-Air Ultralight Aircraft sails
The plastic tip ends will be replaced with metal ends that will be fixed to both the leading and trailing tubes, AND the rib tubes. The fabric will then be rib stitched to the ribs. Please dont do this it doesnt work....? its
dangerous and not what the plane was designed
for.? The complete wing structure? requires that the ribs
actually go into pockets inside the fabric covering to stop
them from twisting sideways. Without this there is absolutely
no strength and no way to maintain the profile. If you try
covering in anything other than the factory system you have no
way of supporting these ribs correctly and if they all fall
over there goes your aerofoil shape and of course you will
crash to the ground. There is really no way of supporting the
ribs correctly without starting to drill holes in the leading
edge and the trailing edge and that is something you don't
want to do and aircraft like the X-Air have a lot more
movement and flexibility in the airframe than does a more
conventional aircraft covered with different fabrics.
Basically, you are wasting your time and you are turning your
aircraft into a death trap at best.
