Hello, yes it is possible to fit a one-piece
windscreen into the X-Air aircraft. If the aircraft is already
built you will need to support the engine and the front part of
the aircraft frame by a winch or cable to the roof otherwise you
will do damage and bend everything. You then need to remove the
engine support tubes which go up to the front of the engine, you
also need to remove the main down tube which can be a problem if
you don't remove the front pod but it is possible. You then
remove the old windscreen, use it as a template for a new
windscreen and I recommend using 2 mm, the standard lexan is 1.5
mm and you will benefit from additional strength having a 2 mm
lexan windscreen. The other important consideration is much of
the lexan comes UV stabilised, this means has a special coating
on one side which must point towards the sun so please make sure
when you are making your new windscreen that you have the
correct side pointing to the sun otherwise you will end up with
premature failure. Fitting the
one-piece windscreen is no harder than fitting a normal
windscreen but it is a lot more difficult when the aircraft is
already built rather than when you are assembling it the first
time from the kit. Take your time, keep your hands clean and
definitely away from any solvents like petrol/gasoline, make
sure any fuel lines that have been disconnected do not leak fuel
anywhere and you will end up with a really good result.

Is it possible to put a one piece windshield on an XAir
standard. If so I would appreciate any suggestions and
information. Thanks
