Yes probably the worst part to change on the airframe, the main axle tube and these two parts attached to it,?are actually the very first part you sit on the floor?out of the kit box?to build the fuselage !
?
removing wings is a must really not a big job, hardest part is untying the straps.
?
You really want to avoid taking off the pod/screen if you can, but you are going to have to support the keel, ideally it needs hanging from something but needs to be well supported.
?
If it was me I would remove the engine makes the whole job so much easier to do without worrying about the weight.?
?
Not an easy job but biting the bullet and removing wings engine etc can be the quickest in the long run.

Subject: X-Air Ultralight Aircraft Advice swapping major part of lower Cockpit frame

?

?
I had bad news this week, the mounting for my air suspension unit is bent and the inspector says I need to change it. Unfortunately the bit that needs changing is the part of the frame that everything attaches to at the bottom of the doorway.
?
Its like tube Christmas tree, it has attachments for the lift struts, and its where all the cockpit tubes come together.
?
Has anyone any advice or recommended methodology for swapping this part?
?
Just looking at it I will need to remove or support the wings and support both ends of the fuse tube so there is no weight on the undercarriage.
?
Not sure if I will need to remove the pod or if there is enough room to work as it is.
?
Any advice welcome.
?
?
As t looks like a tricky job I am going to enlist the help of a professional engineer.
