¿ªÔÆÌåÓýYes, there is a command line utility application for the Mac, too.?You can follow the steps in the manual. Let us know if you have any questions after that.

Receive is very very attenuated - maybe need to update
I forgot the rig was on in the shack and I was working CW on another rig. I thing I overloaded the front end and I'm not ever able to copy the FT8 on 7.075. This sucks!
anyway, Is there a known fix for this or maybe a factory reset or sortware update? |

SDR Bandscope (panadapter) for X5105 (DIY Project)
I wanted to see what signals are "on the band" and wished for a radio with a 'real time' bandscope.? The X5105's signal scan feature is sort of helpful, but awkward to use.? And I haven't found a way to be sure of the frequency of a signal shown on the 'scope.
So I ordered a tiny SDR module kit and an adapter for MCX connector to SMA connector.? The X5105 has an I.F. output jack, presumably for a bandscope - their GSOC display unit. It worked, but the frequency display on the scope turned out to be "backwards", with the higher frequency end on the left side of the display, so it looks like it's scanning 'downward' in frequency. Now there's another little "kit" with the SDR module that comes with an MCX-SMA adapter at Amazon: Nooelec NESDR Mini 2+ 0.5PPM TCXO RTL-SDR & ADS-B USB Receiver Set w/Antenna, Mount & Female SMA Adapter. RTL2832U & R820T2 Tuner. Low-Cost Software Defined Radio for Windows, Mac OS & LinuxAND NOW I see there are multiple videos on youtube about doing this and getting it set up.? (I haven't watched any yet - only just discovered them a few minutes ago.)To work well, you need a PC that can run the SDR program as well as any other programs you may need, so it needs to be a fairly fast CPU system with plenty of RAM. I'm currently not able to use my system, but if anyone else tries a setup like this - please post your results and opinions to this group. NOTE- my normal mode of operation is FT8, which has a sort of 'built in' bandscope.? For other operating modes, a bandscope would be really nice.? Knowing there's activity on the band makes it seem more worthwhile to send a CQ. -------- Doug, K8RFT |
Re: No power out using FT8
I only use my X5105 for FT8, and have never plugged in the microphone.
(Well, I did actually make one voice contact a couple of years ago, but used the built-in mic.) You could also check with Radioddity's Tech Service department - they have been helpful with the X5105. -------- Doug, K8RFT |
Re: Early version defaults to cw disabled on boot
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýCongratulations John! My rig came as a V3, so I have no experience with prior versions but glad to hear you were successful. I have gone through tedious profile adjustments so please reach out if I can help with optimizing settings. ? Best 73, Lou N2JPR ? Sent from for Windows ? From: Tech Guy

No power out using FT8
Hello fellow users,
FT8 issue that I've seen asked but can't find the solution: No output from the X5105. Using WSJT-X and flrig on Andy's Ham Radio Linux (xubuntu 22.04) Rig control works and FT8 signals are decoded. X5105 Settings MIC/VOX: Internal and External, no difference S/P : Speaker or phone, no difference LIN/OUT: on/on PTT: Normal or Toggle, no difference What am I missing? Thanks! Kevin w2nc |
Re: RSSI Scale menu #11
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýHi Justin, ? I keep mine at +20. Using a Dipole or a Long Wire, it seems to be optimized for best signal strength and least background hash with all DSP/Filters OFF. Your results may vary. ? Best 73, Lou N2JPR ? Sent from for Windows ? From: KG2RG

Re: Control your X5105 with CAT commands via
#FLRig
I have read that Xiegu radios use the Icom CAT commands language, and the article suggested setting the IC-7100 as the radio.? That works for my X5105.?? (It does not work for programming memories or messages, though.)
I have also, more recently, set the "RIG" as G90, and that works for 'basic' commands like frequency and 'transmit'.? I use only FT8, so I don't need very many CAT commands. -------- Doug, K8RFT |
Control your X5105 with CAT commands via
#FLRig
Hi all,
I had the problem to control my tuner via flrig on my HamPi. My flrig let me only switch the frequency or modulation. I couldn?t find a documentation of the CAT commands for the X5105. The only docu I found was here:? which is the docu for the G90. But you can use it for the X5105 too. You only need to switch the bit x88 to x70 and it works for me! Example: Start auto tune on G90:?xFE xFE x88 xE0 x1C x01 x02 xFD Start auto tune on X5105:?xFE xFE x70 xE0 x1C x01 x02 xFD You can add the config strings simply in the commands tab and give the command a name. Done. Most of the commands for the G90 works on the X5105, too. I hope, I could help someone with this hack ;) |
