Hi,

The X5105 has a built-in charger for the internal battery.
All you need is a regular powersupply that delivers 13.8 volts and can deliver a current of 2.5 to 3 Amp.
as far as I know, the internal battery is NOT LiFePO4.

While charging, you can see the voltage of the internal battery on the X5105's display. When it is full, the charger automatically stops and shows 'Full' on the display.

The manual says we need to charge the X5105 with a 13.8V minimum 3A power supply.
I'm guessing this is for when running the unit while charging.

However, I have a constant current, constant voltage (CC-CV) 2A supply that I use to charge Bioenno LiFePO4 batteries.

My question is, since I don't know the makeup of the X5105 battery, is it okay to run a CC-CV power supply?
Also, as long as I don't turn the X5105 and TX, I'm assuming 2A will be sufficient?

One could also set up (make) a simple circuit to have their key operate a double-pole relay, with one contact pair wired to the s5105 and one to the amp.? Made with a tiny battery and a reed? relays, it could be fastened right ont the key, or the key's mounting base.
Adding a second pair of contacts to the key itself "could" be possible too.? Tricky, though!

The CE-19 could be wrapped in leather or thin foam, or put into a small plastic box that has a notch in the edge for the cables to pass though.?? Double-stick foam tape holding it onto the radio could work too.
It doesn't look or feel that fragile to me, though.? It's quite small and light, and would normally be 'fastened' to the radio and amp by cables too.?
Now, dropping a rock on it might do some damage, or spilling a mug of coffee.

David from Radioddity just got back to me also letting me know the issue has been reported to Xiegu, he has submitted a bug report for the return of the feature, and also notified the product development team.

I have only used the WOLPHI design for PSK. In other words, I use this circuit to key the 5105 from my Android device not to key an amp.

This is the way PTT works at the CE-19

Technically, though, I doubt that the CE-19 uses the audio to create the PTT control voltage.? There wouldn't be much for it to work with on CW.? I think the CE-19 uses an inverter/optocoupler with its input coming from the radio's PTT DIN connector pin.? The info sheet with it says there's "complete isolation" from the radio, and the 'active low' in its description could be what energizes the relay in the CE-19.
Either way, the Wolphi info is very interesting and useful.

For those following, I have emailed Xiegu's tech support and customer support declaring this a blocking issue since it makes the 6m capabilities pretty useless here in the US.

I have asked if they would recommend another firmware version and if not, are they open to providing a bug fix.

I'll update this thread if and when I hear back from them.

I was just checking up on various connections to the X5105 and remembered your question.? I looked up the manual for the Xiegu XP125B linear amp, and its manual says that the amp does not have rf sensing and that a signal from the X5105, through the CE-19 six-pin DIN connector put the amp into Transmit mode.
I bought my X5105 from Radioddity, and it came with a Xiegu sheet about the CE-19.? The document page has a reference number at the top that? looks to me like a factory 'item' number.? It's 03-CZ1206 - maybe that could help you find a copy.
There's an "info box" on the sheet that says quote
"CE-19 PTT output signal by a relay output pins (sic), and X5105 completely isolated, can adapt to different versions of the XPA125, can als bo adapter to other brands of amplifiers (low trigger)."
end quote.
The 'connector definitions' part of the page says

"PTT CON ? ? ? ? PTT signal/BAND signal output port, the port PTT signal completely isolated with the host, providing linkage with the host "low" trigger.

If anyone still needs the info, it might help if they ask Radioddity support to put that document on their website downloads page.

Looking into the inside of the CE-19, I can see what looks like 5 or 6 tiny surface-mount parts, a relay and a small device that looks like an electrolytic capacitor in an aluminum case.? It also looks like the old, old metal-cased early transistors, but much smaller - about 4mm diameter and maybe 5mm high.
My radio, the "Outdoor Model" came with the CE-19, and included an 8-min mini-Din cable to connect the two.? The CE-19 has a 6-pin mini-Din female connector for the cable to the linear amp.? That cable was not included with my outfit.

I hope this helps to somewhat clear up the interconnection questions (problems?).
