What I just finally noticed there is the ICOM description for pin 3 - grounded to indicate that the HM-151 [microphone] is connected.? Maybe we have to connect the Xiegu pin 3 to ground, too!

I wonder if the "M8V SW means it's 'Mic 8 volt switch', and enables the mic, or the PTT.
Also, Heil sells headset adapters for RJ45 connector radios.? Possibly their Icom version would work for us.
