It would be nice if Xiegu got to the bottom of this issue and what the fix is. Ive been running my 5105 with the charger on,off, connected and disconnected for 2 years now with no issues. Turn the radio on and off at will not paying attention to what cables are or are not connected including CAT control and interface cables. Connect and disconnect with power on or off including line supply. So why are some having this issue and others are not? C"mon Xiegu, step up and figure it out.

So I disassembled the x5105 hoping that it was the battery or something simple that melted.? This is what I found.? It's toasted so make SURE that when you plug your charger/power supply into the radio that it is NOT plugged into the outlet.? I'm guessing the connector shorted to the case.??
