I¡¯m going to give it a another try before I order up a couple of those. But if I were making more than one custom cable those would be the way to go.

I bought an 8 pin mini din 'patch' cable recently, to cut up for making an X5105 interface cable.? Haven't started yet, though.
the CE-19 does 'break out' the AF in & AF out from the 8 pin minidin to a 1/8" stereo jack.
