WOW! Darn Interesting! . . .
But I'm cringing inside. Destroying an actual Apollo Saturn V LVDC circuit board just to see how they put it together??? That just seems nothing short of sacrilegious to me. If it were mine, it would be mounted and displayed like a holy relic! . . . These boards and their tech ain't that old that she couldn't have easily found over a dozen folks (probably the same folks who actually built them in the first place) more than happy to explain everything she wanted to know. Even the best step-by-step ways to disassemble them, IF she REALLY thinks she needed to garner fame as a YouTube Geek Super Star. = Sorry, but some of her methods and her lack of military and aerospace construction knowledge made me envision a clueless teenager trying to "teardown" a vintage V-8 out of a 60s muscle car using nothing but a blowtorch and a sledgehammer.?
I might be a bit more impressed if she now Put It All Back Together AND Made It Work To Spec!!!?
I just really, Really, REALLY hope nobody decides to put Fran on any of those Alien tech reverse-engineering teams!!! LOL

THE OTHERS

I'm a Jeremy Robinson fan. Have been for some years. I love how he takes a fistful of conspiracies, urban legends, HARD and soft facts, and spins them up with his own unique twists to deliver one heck of a GREAT roller coaster of a Sci-Fi/Horror Action/Adventure ride. --- In THE OTHERS he takes on the whole gambet of UFO/Greys issues that will leave you wondering just how much of this is Robinson, and how much of this ~ just might be ~ "REAL"?????
Though I really enjoyed the whole story, I gotta admit, I did get rather bored with The Mourning Former Cop bit. You just seem to see him featured in too many stories any more. So much so that it's hard to really work up any real sympathy for that type of character. = Way over used. --- Still, plenty of other unique characters. = A wise cracking senior citizen partner, a gun toting preacher, and an Uber driver! LOL?
?
I can't wait to read his next book (series???). = UNITY. A Mil-Sci-Fi story!!! --- Sign up for JR's newsletter and you get a FREE copy!

Dan G?

THE FIRST

Trailers for a new HULU series about a mission to Mars. -- Hard Sci-Fi.= No Squids, No scantily clad red skinned princess, No secret alien mining operations or bases. --- Just a LOT of Drama featuring Apollo era type tech. . . . with Sean Penn. . . . . . ~ maybe ~ as a movie or even a short miniseries, but . . . yeah, they lost me at Sean Penn. LOL

Re: Building A Flying Saucer

Greetings Ron and All,
HEY! I came from CA at one time too! . . . Oh, that's right, . . . I ~ AM ~ a self proclaimed Nutter too. . . Never mind. LOL

When I was a kid I built one out of an old Frisbee and an .020 engine. No control whatsoever. Just a tether line staked to the ground. Real RC gear was WAY out of my pocketbook range in those days. Even the .020 was somebody else's castoff. it would get a couple of feet off the ground and then flip over into Kamikaze lawnmower mode. --- Wound up building a chopped down to fit the little .020 balsa wood string controlled flying wing. At least I could fly and stunt that without mowing the grass too many times. LOL
Funny, I never did go back into that "flying saucer" project once I started fooling around with RC gear many, many years later. . . hmmm, maybe after I win the Lotto and have some actual "Free Time" on my hands. . . .?

Yeah, ya know, this guy's way overlong "Build A Flying Saucer" article might be a tad bit more impressive if he included pictures of His OWN garage built saucer. If it's "So Easy" and all. Right? . . . = Those that can, DO. Those that can't, Write Blogs! LOL

Keep It FUN!

???Atlantis Models "Preserving the Past while Building the Future"?

LONG ISLAND, NY,?August 29th 2018 ¨C Atlantis Model Co., manufacturer of plastic models and toys has purchased the tooling for many plastic model kits from the new owners of Revell, Revell Inc. USA-Blitz Partners.. These molds were from the tooling banks of Monogram, Revell, Aurora and Renwal, some dating back to the early 1950s. They were stored in Revell¡¯s Elk Grove facility in the great state of Illinois and represent Automotive, Aircraft, Ships, Military, Figures, Space and many other interesting subjects.?

Peter Vetri, President of Atlantis, states, ¡°It's a lifelong dream to own this historic tooling and archive material related to these molds; to be able to preserve the tooling is a real honor. We look forward to reissuing many classics that have not been available in quite some time. All of the model kits will be made here in the USA and all the tooling and the Archive have been moved from Elk Grove to our facilities in Deer Park, NY. I would personally like to thank Julie Dombrowski, Edward Sexton, Lou Aguilera, Chris Borris and the legendary Ken Funk for the hard work they did at Revell over the years and especially the last few months which were a difficult closure for them.¡±?

The deal was worked out shortly after the Hobbico bankruptcy was settled out. It was a very smooth transaction. It took about 2 months to complete from start to finish. Rick DelFavero, VP of operations, states, ¡°I think model enthusiasts around the world will be pleasantly surprised in the coming years to see what the tooling bank and Historical Archive contains. We believe our releases will appeal not only to people that saw the original issues of these kits, but also to a new generation that can help expand and grow the hobby!¡±?

Look for kits to hit store shelves 1st qtr 2019, our 10 Year Anniversary!?

About?Atlantis Models Atlantis Toy and Hobby was founded in 2009 by Peter Vetri and Rick DelFavero with some guidance from former Aurora Project Manager Andrew P. Yanchus. With a combined 60 years of hobby experience, not only are we lifelong hobbyists, we know what it takes to run a successful hobby manufacturing business. Atlantis Toy and Hobby has sold thousands of products all over the world since 2009. Atlantis is an MDR company, Manufacturer-Distributor-Retailer, offering World Class Knowledge and Service in the Hobby Industry.

They come from California and congregate on Fakebook.

I had a "UFO" ... actually an R/C version, used a single motor - double shaft rotor (counter rotating props) surrounded by a UFO disk (made from Styrofoam)?body. Flashing lights on the bottom.?Fun but really hard to control.
