The Black Knight Satellite
Greetings All,
From my Weird Files --- The Black Knight Satellite (Conspiracy?)? Another Nutter Conspiracy Infatuation? Or is (was) there ~ something ~ really up there that MJ-12/13 was Covering Up? (just had to throw a "space blanket" pun in there.LOL) The Net will bounce you from one side's view to the other. MJ-13's lackeys at Wiki do their typical claim of its all Nutter Trash, and the UFO sites scream CONSPIRACY!!!? I find it rather strange that this thing was supposedly spotted so many decades ago and nobody to my knowledge has ever used it in an SF/AH or even comic book story. = More "proof" of MJ-12/13's suppression of "The Truth"??? = Enquiring Minds Want To Know! LOL ? Just to show I can be Fair & Open Minded. (And to try and keep MJ-13 from shutting me down! LOL) ? Keep It FUN! Dan G |
Re: The Great Serpent Mound?
LOL --- So, ya reckon Great-Grandpappy Gummer was passing thru the area and wasted their "Grandfather Serpent" before he could rescue the lost Shawnee warriors??? = OOOPS! "Sorry, guys. It was either that darn Ass Blaster or that thar great big old Gamera looking critter, and I'm a feared that blazing away with "Old Bess" here was none better than spittin' chickpeas thru a straw at that monster. But don't you be a fearin none. Old Bess and me will be lookin out fer any more of the rest of them thar Ass Blasters that come abouts troublin y'all. Cause one thing that's sure as rain, if'in thars one, thars bounds to be more. . . . Say, what you folks makin ta do with that thar big stake y'all is stickin in the ground and them thar skinnin knives y'all be flashin about anyways? . . . Well, I reckon I'll just be amoseying along now. Places to get to, and Graboids to blast, and all that. Y'all have's your own-selves a right nice Ass Blaster roast! I'll be seeing my own-selves outa camp. Adios Muchacha-ritoes! . . . FEET DON'T FAIL ME NOW!!!" --- LOL?

History Without McNamara
Greetings All,
Often I read Alt-Hist stories (or, at least, browse the stacks and stacks looking for something "New".) but most love to focus on major World Changing Events like = The South Wins, The Nazis Win, Lincoln Lives, Washington Loses, Queen Victoria Never Dies, etc, etc, etc. Many have been done so many times ya gotta wonder why people bother. --- Still, that's the FUN of Alt-History = The WHAT IF??? and it seems that everybody loves to get their hands, or at least their brains into it. I sure ain't no exception.? Being an "Atompunk" and still wondering where the hell my promised Jetpack and Flying Car got off to, I think about that Atomic Age Future That Never Was and WHAT would it might have taken to bring it about. --- My current conclusion. = NO Robert McNamara.? In MY Alt-History, either he was never appointed Secretary Of Defence by JFK or he just opted to stay at Ford. (If I'm feeling particularly vicious, he got Zippoed test driving an early prototype Pinto. LOL) IMO, all would work, and all would have seen Major Changes in World Events. =? Aside from being one of the Leading Components to bury us over our heads in that mess in Southeast Asia (while at the same time proudly shoving the useless M-16 and F-111s on our forces) this Bean Counter ripped away the funding on some of the most innovated air and space projects to ever emerge in this country with his across the board budget cuts. Did I say, "cuts"??? More like, Slash & Burn. ---??In the 60s, DEFENSE was the pinnacle of all branches of R&D tech development.?One of the first things this ACCOUNTANT did after his appointment was to proceed to cancel every single innovative defense program in sight. High speed bombers and interceptors, nuclear-powered aircraft, missiles, and SPACECRAFT. You name it, he killed it. = YEAH, we coulda had REAL FLYING SAUCERS if the Pye Wacket and other Lenticular type programs (which were very near completion!) hadn't gotten blindly slashed! Not to mention the X-15 and Dyna-Soar type Spaceplanes programs. AND be reaching for The Stars in ORION!!!!? So, IMO (as always) if someone asks, "Whatever became of those Flying Cars and Jetpacks??" just tell them, "McNamara traded them off for Vietnam." ---> I'm thinking that that "prototype Pinto" gig might be To Nice a way to have handled this guy. LOL Keep It FUN! Dan G |

A moving target - that is so cool!!! It would be fun to chase that around in a building. LOL Ron |

I don't know what scale your working with but man that's some serious work on the terrain! I would love to see a setup when your gaming if possible. Ron On Sun, Jun 3, 2018 at 8:14 PM, Terry Sofian via Groups.Io <tsofian@...> wrote:

This year I have rebuilt the terrain. There are some new miniatures and models! We will have five sessions over four days (Wednesday to Saturday). The humans under Roosevelt will seek to kill the?Hive Queens. Can the Multi-National?Air Assault Force get through the swarms of attacking flying bugs and through the shooters to land and kill the egg layers?

Re: Flying Aircraft Carriers & Parasite Fighters
Yeah, that's one of the many reasons I really like Atomic Age Military X-Projects. = So many REALLY incredible equipment designs came out for all branches of the service. Granted, like these that never left the drawing board (the 1186c purely due to politics!), many made it to the prototype stage simply because they didn't have computers to tell them such&such would never work. So once they got past the slide-rules and "windtunnel models" the only way to find out for sure was to build it. Some worked. Some . . . Not So Much. Still, = TONS of fuel for my warped AH/SF-F greymatter! --- I just wish that there was more reliable sources for some of these projects than what you can find online. Though no little of intel on many are (believe-it-or-not) still not available to the public for a host of odd reasons.
BTW -- Did ya look into the USS UNITED STATES CVA-58 ("A" for Atomic or Attack or both???) Super Carrier that the 1186C was designed for? = Pretty Darn Interesting! (Damn jealous interfering FlyBoys anyway! = POLITICS!) Wiki and NavSource Online are both good. But again a modelers page gives a better idea of the finished ship and even includes 1186Cs on his flightdeck!? ? Keep It FUN! Dan G |

Re: Flying Aircraft Carriers & Parasite Fighters
Gotta a couple of more additions.
The Douglas 1186c was a US Navy parasite NUCLEAR POWERED (evil grin) Long Range Special Attack composite aircraft design from 1948. The parasite would guide and drop this monster (being nuclear powered it could hang around for weeks waiting for The Word) then detach and run like hell before the blast or intercept fighters could catch it. --- Pretty interesting history behind this Atomic Age Big Bird but, once again, about the best images and info come from modeler pages. SHARKIT does a very nice one, and I've even seen paper models online. Still, CMIG has a good short article. =?? From the AH/SF novella MISSILE GAP by C Stross I reckon a Russian Ekranoplan could qualify as a Fictional "Flying" Aircraft Carrier. --- This EnglishRussia site tries to make it seem like a Soviet project that almost got off the ground, but its all just typical Ivan BS Hype. Still, some GREAT renderings. =?? Keep It FUN! Dan G |
Re: Jetpack Races Muscle Car
Ron Hunt
That looked like a whole lot of hype but I would love to see the jet pack racing your talking about. That would probably be safer than the air races! LOL Ron On Sat, May 26, 2018 at 8:36 PM, Dan G via Groups.Io <Grauwulf@...> wrote: YEAH! . . . So, what's next? = I say they should start doing Jetpack races just like they do Air Racing!!! |
