Re: Movies
I gotta pretty much agree with Terry. --- The wife and I just finished watching Tremors 6 and we liked it. The Original four were better. Especially 1 & 4. But overall, I think we'd watch it again as part of a marathon. Probably not as a stand alone like 1 or 4, but certainly good enough to carry on the Tremors tradition of Direct-To-Video Not Overly Horrifying Or Slasher type movies. I also agree with Terry that it was trying too hard to be serious. (If ya can count all the Global Warming and DARPA digs as serious. LOL) They do need to lighten up and give us back the laughs though. --- As to the chicks getting ate in 5 & 6, . . . I'm pretty sure that the guys still outnumber the gals by a long stretch. In the original Dr Wallace and his wife both got eaten early on in the flick, so Graboids have never shown a preference for males only. I'm just glad that they haven't found a need to make the Graboid feeding scenes overly graphic as so many flicks would have been doing by now.? --- Sex scenes??? --- I must have missed something other than the goodbye kiss at the end.?
Was I the only one who remembered those eggs in the the hot springs are still sitting there??? OVERALL = I'd give it a four Graboids out of five rating. LOL Keep It FUN! Dan G |
Re: Movies
I did watch the whole thing. I am really sad that Stampede Entertainment didn't do the latest two. The original group really understood the campiness was main charm of the first four movies. In the first four there was not a single sex scene or any young ladies getting killed, both of which are staples in slasher films. Those do show up in 5 and 6.?

Both 5 and 6 had too many characters, too many sub plots and were just too serious.
There was a very nice call back to the original movie in 6 though.

NASA's New Nuke Power System For Space
Greetings All,
Interesting article about NASA's "Kilopower" (I think that they REALLY should have come up with a better name. LOL) nuclear generator. Interesting idea as well. . . . I just gotta wonder how they are going to get them off the ground without all the Anti-Nuke (Because I don't have clue of what I'm talking about) Nutters going totally ballistic???? ? Keep It FUN! I wonder if THIS is what killed the Bacon series??? It would sure be FUN to see a reunion flick with all the old crew. Heck, I'd settle for a spin-off book! (series??? . . . I could never get THAT lucky!) Keep It FUN! Dan G |
Movies

Hollyweird has no idea of the concept of new idea's!! LOL That said, I started watching the new Tremors movie. Starts out where they are supposed to be in the Artic but it was obviously shot in sand. The second scene cuts to the original store with Bert in it arguing with the tax man ... and the show just gets worse and worse. Ron |
RAMPAGE the movie
Greetings All,
I really had to laugh when I saw this commercial on the tube. This was one of the last video games we bought for the kids (while they were still kids). All I could think was, . . . Well, at least they ain't rebooting yet ANOTHER old TV show! ---- But I sure do gotta wonder what they'll be forced to turn to when they run out of old movies, TV shows and comic books, and video games. . . . something ORIGINAL??? === Hope I get to live that long! LOL ? Keep It FUN! Dan G |
Re: SOLO: A Star Wars Story
Yeah. And it seems that the more they push-peddle the thing (like with slipping film shots into other totally unrelated commercials = insurance, food, etc adds) the worse the flick turns out. Go Figure!
That was also one of the reasons we totally gave up on watching new comedys. You saw/heard All Three of the good jokes in the previews. The rest of the flick would turn out to be lame filler. No matter what major star was aping about on the screen. --- Thanks to our grandkids we learned that all the good And FUNNY writers had turned to doing the Kid Vid Cartoons. = Far more laughs for your buck than any "adult" oriented comedy could ever hope to crank out in a lifetime! = Pretty Sad. . . . But GREAT for giving kids (and us almost still kids) a place to laugh in this world! Keep It FUN! Dan G |
Re: Netflix TREMORS TV Series Dumped . . . AGAIN!
Yep. We don't watch much TV these days. Haven't for years. If we do, it's to mainline stream a series (NO DARN COMMERCIALS!!!) But this new job I've got has me staying in hotels four to five nights a week so I catch about an hour of SyFy and the weather a night. One, a book series I read a while back and really liked = The Expanse, is pretty good. The rest, . . . not very much. Pretty much all lame CGI-ed soap-opera stuff, IMO. = Me, I'd rather hope to catch the Futurama reruns! LOL?
I've even tried to watch The Walking Dead on another channel one night just because everyone (including my kids) RAVES!!! about it. = Thought it weak, stupid, boring and more fit for Zombie Chow than anything actually worth wasting time watching. Heck, I've gotta deal with scarier Zombies every time I go to WalMart! Sure glad now I didn't waste money on the audios!? Yeah, so I don't get it. . . . But what with the people they've got doing the picking&choosing in HollyWeirdLand these days I'm sure they came up with a million and one of THEIR reasons not to go with it. No matter how good or bad the pilot actually was. . . . I'm just hoping that somewhere down the line they release it so that we can all get a peek at it.? Keep It FUN! Dan G |

Just the usual thing these days, more eye candy ... that will make a worn out movie theme better. Just ask them. To bad the scrips are next to worthless. Capt. Ron On Sun, Apr 29, 2018 at 9:10 PM, Dan G via Groups.Io <Grauwulf@...> wrote: Greetings All, |

Re: SOLO: A Star Wars Story
Greetings All,
Just to answer my own question about the Falcon we get the Re-Writer's version of WHY they decided to take such "artistic" liberties. = Good? Bad? Okay? . . . Me, I just wish these guys would have bothered to READ the books! (Yeah. Right! Like THAT'S ever going to happen! LOL) ? Keep It FUN! Dan G |
SOLO: A Star Wars Story
Greetings All,
MANY years back I grabbed up and read the Han Solo Adventures (3-in-1) by Brian Daley and later the Han Solo Trilogy by Ann C Crispin. I liked the first better than the second, and BOTH WAY FREAKING BETTER than any of the movies. (Just never cared much for all that Jedi "Force" mumbo-jumbo, I reckon. = "Hokey religions and ancient weapons are no match for a good blaster at your side, kid." LOL) Not very sure that this new SOLO flick/series will come close to bothering to follow ANY of those original storylines (most likely not), but the preview trailer sure ~ looks ~ darn good! ----- BUT, What The Heck is up with the way the Falcon looks??? = Darn Rewriters just can't leave anything sacred alone!!!? ? Keep It FUN! Dan G |
TREMORS 6: A Cold Day In Hell
Greetings All,?
Counting Down The Days!!! = May 1st === Gummer takes on the Graboids . . . AGAIN! The Official Trailer AND a flashback with the Original Trailer (just in case ya needed a reminder of how this all got started. . . . Hey, at least nobody has started screwing around with another total reboot/rewrite yet!!! LOL) ? Keep It FUN! Dan G |
