Okay, I'm really clueless regarding Bug breeding habits, but I would think that, well, being BUGS, they could breed as many of whatever they needed for the preservation and benefit of the hive. Sorta like ants. If their nest is in a hostile environment, they breed more warriors to protect the nest. If in an area with an abundance of harvestable foodstuffs, they breed more workers.?
Why couldn't the Bugs just breed more flyers if that is the threat that the Hive faces??????
