My daughter bought this machine at an estate sale in Montgomery, Al. Someone asked about the sticker being different and if I had it redone. We bought in this condition, but it looks like it is brand new. The cabinet has a few condition issues but for it's age it's in good shape. The treadle part is stamped Wheeler and Wilson but it is light and hard to see. Can you tell me if it's redone and maybe the age. Serial # 51056? |

You'll need to go to the "Photos" section of the forum (there's a link at the bottom of every email message, or on the left side of the screen if you're reading on the web. Click the "New Album" button to create your album. paul =---------------------- paul fox, pgf@... (arlington, ma, where it's 31.8 degrees) |

The W&W #8 machine was introduced ca 1878 & made until replaced by the #9 in 1889. I do not know how high the SNs went bt mu #8 treadle is # 353,878. The SN would make your machine a rather early one, likely no later than 1880. Would love to see pictures?of it. You can link to my e-mail through the group here, f you would e-mail me some good pictures of both front & back. I may be able to tell you a bit more about it from them. Miller/TN? |
