I
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýHello Wheeler and Wilson group,?
? ? ?I'm Mindy, and reside in the foothills of Northeast Georgia mountains. My father had been hiding this W&W D9 in an old metal building in Tallahassee, FL. He had the head laying
on its side on top of the treadle cabinet. Squirrels had been nesting with pine needles, and hiding acorns in the head of the machine. I screaked with excitement. I had been reading about several different treadle machines, and read that W&W's were some the
smoothest treadles ever made.
? ? ?It was seized up, and Dad poured motor oil, lighter fluid, and something else down in it. With a little effort Dad was able to free it up. I have asthma, and had to breathe
that awful mess for 6 1/2 hrs drive home.
? ? ?The cabinet was in bad shape, and the paint on the head was breaking off in chunks. It's not valuable in its current state, and so I will rehab it for me in the color of my
choosing.
? ? I was able to sew a few masks in 2020, but have not had the time to set her up. I had to move 4 times in 2020. Moving finally ended once I was able to purchase a home. I can't
wait to start sewing again, and I have manage to buy a few feet.
? ? I stumbled upon this group, and I am trying to ask my youngest son for assistance in making the adapter. His wife bought him a 3D printer for Christmas last year. I found the
patent, but it doesn't have the measurements. Maybe he can use a W&W foot and a Singer foot to craft a presser foot adapter.
Thank you for letting me join the group,
