Re: WW to Singer Side Clamp adapter
I have not checked for compatibility?of other brands of bars that might fit the W&W 9 machines. That doesn't necessarily solve the problem though.? The spacing between the presserbar & needlebar is longer on the W&W 9s than on a Singer. If a side-mount Singer needlebar?can be placed in a W&W the attachment would not properly reach the needle of the Singer. All the adaptors for using Singer feet on the W&W 9 have the attachment point for the Singer's feet forward?of the presserbar to put the needle holes in the right position. I have no idea who published that info of?wapping bars, but I would be somewhat leery of it Miller/TN |
Re: Singer 9W3?
Jon;? If this link works it is to a page from a 1908 Singer/Bridgeport catalog describing the 9W1 Through the 9W5. Based on this catalog & your description this sounds like it?is more apt to be a 9W7 to me. My 9W7 has a higher SN?@ 3,185,801 & is late enough it uses the late flat-sided bobbin. Miller/TN |
Re: WW to Singer Side Clamp adapter
Likely you will be searching for the adapter for a while.
I have the adapter that is original to a Singer 9W that belonged to Ray Sew Slow Waganka. The adapter will not fit any of my other 10 or 12 W&W9s, W&W D9s or Singer 9Ws. The Singer 9W lives in a tailor style treadle. -Phyllis in Iowa |
Re: Singer 9W3?
I spotted another D9 with Singer decals and W&W footprint similar to the earlier one in the conversation.? These photos are under Singer 9W3?? I wasn't able to add the new photos but the decals are very similar with a W&W badge on the bed and a brass Singer badge on the pillar.? The serial number is later, 3050482.? It is a treadle with Singer irons, a single drawer, and coffin top.? I believe the machine is in the Ukraine but not positive.??

Re: Thank You
White made quite a few badged?machines. I have a white rotary badged as a Kenmore for Sears which carries the mode number 117-552. I suspect the 107 in this machine's model represents the retailer for which it was made, but do not know who ii was. Whoever made machines under the Wilson name would be a clue, but just the name Wilson is not to be confused with Wheeler & Wilson. Miller/TN |

Re: Thank You
Hello,
? It looks very much like a White Rotary model 43.? If there was a piece of cardboard put between the machine and the motor to keep the friction wheel from touching the hand wheel you are in luck as those friction wheels can develop flat spots on them if left against the hand wheel.? There looks to be a missing hinge pin and the "hand hole" cover for accessing the bobbin case to change them out.? All of that can be fabricated easy enough.? Very good machines were made by White.? We have a couple older 100 year old plus FR (family rotary) with spoked wheels and groove for leather belt if motor not used and a model 77mg (magnesium) portable.? All are exceptional sewers and can do denim down to light stuff.? I think the 43 may have had reverse but not certain as I don't own one.? All the old White Rotaries are straight stitchers only but wow do they do that with the best of them. Best regards, Mike |
