The holes are probably on the right side as well, I just haven't
checked yet.
Could this "better breathing" be counter productive for the stock
mufflers? I think the holes were drilled because the previous owner
was using after market mufflers.

was done instead of removing the snorkel from inside the airbox.
Strange that you only found them on the left, unless it was an effort
to balance out the two sides. Never heard of that one before.

I took off the left side cover and found two 1" holes in the left side
airbox. Is this good? My bike seems to run a little lean. The
previous owner must have done some mods. I am not sure if any of the
needles have been swapped out.
