Doesn't the exhaust moving through just wear at the baffles like errosion?

Personally, I would not recommend messing around with the Stock Exhaust by
trying to punch holes in it.
Having traveled behind a couple of W650's in the past, they have a "Great
Note".
Mine seems to haven gotten louder over time, sound great, no longer
backfires.
The bike also seems to warm up quicker than it used too when I first got it!
